The members go out and do activities together and see each other throughout the week. I am involved in the pastoral ministries of preaching, discipleship, training leaders, and counseling. However, I am still growing and I need to improve the pastoral care that I offer. We visit the sick and try to minister to those in the community. In the area of spiritual direction, I try to help people learn how to obey the Word of God. I seek to be obedient to the Holy Spirit and seek His guidance as I disciple, counsel, and teach others. I also instruct the members on how to be obedient to the Holy Spirit. The counseling that is done in the New Hope Baptist Church is done on a small scale. We need to improve in this area. The members are counseled by the pastor or other leaders who will seek the help of the Holy Spirit, prayer, and the Word of God. The pastoral ministry seeks to perfect the saints, for the work of the ministry (Eph. 4:12). Our main goal is to bring people to Jesus Christ, just like Andrew brought his brother Simon to Jesus (Jn. 1:42). References Benner, David. 2003.
