The goal of this work is to demonstrate the economic viability in the creation of cattle cutting by containment system, identify the advantages that the confinement can increment in the context of rural property and components that have greater influence on the final cost of the activity. The data were analyzed from a cattle feedlot, located in the northern of the State of Mato Grosso, in which they were completed, in animal containment, 66, during the months of July to October 2010. The electronic processing of data was carried out using a spreadsheet. Itens operating cost components that have greater influence on the cost of the activity were, in descending order: cost of animals, food, labor, various expenses and sanity. The containment of the production system in the study received a positive final result, evidencing that the activity is able to survive in the long term.
