MULTIPLE MEANING WORDS: THE IMPORTANCE IN CHOOSE RIGHT TO KEEP THE COHERENCE OF THE DISCOURSE IN PROPOSED CONTEXT

ABSTRACT

This paper intends to observe the existence of Multiple Meaning Words (MMW) in Portuguese Language and to demonstrate that there are distinct words to each context in the English Language, evidencing the importance to choose right these words in the desired context, keeping the coherence on reading, translations and production of written and spoken texts, to reach the goals to comprehend the reader and/or listener. It is important for the English Language learner to be aware of this occurrence and to observe the difficulties that they will face to preserve the same text, not modifying its meaning, maintaining the proposed coherence from reader and/or speaker, to make the communication clear on second language.
