ABSTRACT

This monograph discusses the intra-family violence against children and the role of social service in they dealing. Aimed to analyze the performance of Social Work in coping will domestic violence against children. The specific objectives were: to verify forms of family violence against children; historically situate the family structure; discuss family violence against children; understand domestic violence as a social phenomenon and meet child protection legislation. The methodology used was based on the literature, with qualitative and exploratory approach. The theoretical foundation was formed from the conception of the child categories, domestic violence, Family and Social Service. The analysis result from the theories presented the topic found that intra-familiar violence has increased in discussions among researchers. Reflection could understand the complexity of the matter, and that there is a need to broaden the visibility of the problem in society. The study also allowed us to observe the laws of child care must be guaranteed and therefore needs the intervention of a social worker. The analysis indicates the need for further research on the topic deeper in order to broaden the debate on the importance of social service to ensure the protection of children is the social context or within the family.
