In the case of Brazil, the agro-export model, implemented since the colonial period, defined as a process while allowing economic growth, impedes sustainable development, because it ends in land concentration, environmental degradation and social exclusion . This paper presents data and reflections on the misappropriation of land in Brazil since its discovery. Also conducts a critical review of the development policies adopted in the post-dictatorship in 1964 and its consequences for the environment and the biomes nationals. Within the land issue, the conflict is a result of the confrontation between the territory of the peasantry and of the plantation and agribusiness.
