ABSTRACT Focus on the development of school library projects for student of the first one to the nineth year. Evaluate and define the school library. Show the importance of reading in the process of educating individuals. Develop literature targeted to children. Present the functions of the library in the school environment. Analyze the situation of the school library in Brazil. Talk about the planning and development of school library projects. Outline the administrative features of school library projects. Discuss the importance of establishing libraries in schools. Present policies that should be included in school library projects. Elaborate on the importance of self study in library projects. Elaborate on the importance of environment and structure in the design of a library. Demonstrate design adaptations required for easy access to the library by persons with special needs. Show the importance of having surrounding decorations be in harmony with its potential users. Illustrate the process of collections that must be anticipated in a school library project.
