Consequently the metology for the elaboration of this article is founded on recompiling information of national and international sources which describe profiles in the field of agro-business that are adequate for agro-engineers in Colombia but also worldwide. The choice of criterias for selecting the profil is based on the following factors: Developments in the national and international sector of agro-industries, needs of the country and of the world as well as ethical, social, scientific and entrepreneurial principles and values.
Furthermore we have to construct a matrix with weights to assign values to the problems which a good agro-engineer should be able to solve. The other variables, which have to be evaluated, are the capabilities which are necessary for solving problems that a good agro-engineer should be able to work out. These will be ranked on a scale from 1 to 10 according to the experience of the authors. Finally, the five most representive capabilities will be selected out of the matrix and conclusions will be drawn which permit us to define a profil of agro-engineers that gives real solutions which are applicable to the needs of the environment considering that the profil has to have caracteristics of quality, humanity, cognitive ability and knowledge.
