“The potrait of Afghanistan” and Catcher in the Rye, have many things in common but these two books present differences that should be analyzed because due to the environments which of them is developed in and also because one can be identified with them. The Kite Runner, a book of a story full of guilt, redemption, friendship and betrayal; these topics are not alien from Catcher in Rye; which undergoes a story of a person, Holden, having depression, how he dealed with his surroundings and his disease. Topics like friendship, family and how is society, even how these characters deal with it, are differently developed throughout the stories.
