The quetzal lives in the cloud forests.
They are called cloud forests because they are high in the mountains, while almost always covered with fog at dawn and dusk.
Therefore, the forest is wet, cold and rains a lot.
Cloud forests are like islands on top of the mountains. And below the surrounding tropical forests or pine. In Mexico there are several sites of cloud forests, but only in Chiapas live quetzal.
